Buoyed by the recent U14 win at the U14 Championships CAGU took an excellent team to The Leicestershire GC, with high expectations.
The team led by Jake Plumb (Gog Magog GC) didn’t disappoint. Despite a very wet start to proceedings the team managed to post all 6 scores under 80 on a difficult par 70 course, with the best 5 to count for the Championship.
- Oliver Toyer (St Neots) 72
- Jake Plum (Gog Magog) 72
- Harry McDonnell (St Neots) 76
- Theo Morris (Links Newmarket) 78
- Sam Marshall (Elton Furze) 73
- Paull Collington (Gog Magog) 75
Giving the team a winning score of 368 beating Worcestershire by 3 shots.
Team Manager Nigel Plumb said “We are really delighted and proud of the boys. The standard of golf in the county is exceeding all our expectations and the future is looking very bright indeed”.
This has been the strongest ever season for CAGU winning 6 major intercounty competitions and various other matches.
CAGU will be hosting a “Get into County Golf” introduction at St Ives GC on the 31st of October at 3pm. If you would like to find out more, please come along.
