Junior County Championships 2022

As ever the course was in great condition, and we were blessed with some fantastically hot weather. 23 juniors took to the field for what promised to be a very competitive event where some excellent scoring was expected!

The many spectators were not to be disappointed as the early starters put in some great performances after round one, Olly Toyer of St Neots led with a 66 (-3) on the par 69 course. Joe Austin of Links Newmarket had a level par 69, Jake Plumb of the Gogs had a +1 70 and Sam Marshall a +2 71 setting the scene for an exiting afternoon.

When play resumed after Lunch several Sam Marshall was the only player from the leading pack to improve his score shooting an excellent -1 68. However it wasn’t enough as Olly Toyer took the title by one shot by hanging onto the lead with a credible 72 to finish the day on level par shooting a total of 138.

The U12 Competition was played off the red tees and was retained by Aryan Alwala who shot an impressive +7 76 on the day.
