Baldwin destroys field at Christmas Invitational
Jeremy Baldwin, Nene Park Golf Club, destroyed the field with a gross 71 to win the CAGU Seniors invitational at Saffron Walden Golf Club. The weather was kind to the senior golfers with no wind and mild weather.
After an impressive brunch the seniors took to the course with Baldwin leading the way. An impressive 71 gross including 3 birdies destroyed the field. An invite to the senior fold Richard Beecroft, Gog Magog Golf Club, shot 74 and 3 rd gross was the ever consistent John Yuill, Links Golf Club, Newmarket with a 75 .
The best handicap prize went to David Burt of Saffron Walden Golf Club with a net 71. Nearest the pin on the 7 th went to Peter Laughlin, Gog Magog Golf Club and on the 18 th went to Graham Locke of Brampton Pk.
Graham Goodman seniors captain said afterwards “ A great thank you to Saffron Walden Golf Club for hosting the seniors today. The hospitality was first class and the course was presented immaculately for the time of year. There were especially some really good scores today from Jeremy, Richard and John. 90% of the field shot into the 70s which bodes well for county seniors golf next year”
